一時間お得

今日で（あと１時間で）サマータイム終了です。ルームメートに今言われて、気付きました！あやうく今までと変わらず生活するところだった。。。^^; クラスルームに行って、誰もいないのを見て、あれ今日授業休み？とか、朝スタバ行って、未だお開店してないや、なんてこともあり得たよ。。。一時間ペイバックで「得したー」感がすごくある。３月にはその逆で、「おれの勉強時間減らしやがって！」って損した感じがした。その一時間何に使おうか真剣に悩んでる。一時間長く寝る。すごく魅力的。一時間余分に勉強する。寝るより魅力的。一時間ネットサーフィンする。楽しそうだけど、後悔しそう。忙しくてやりたくてもできないことをやろう。という訳で本を読むことにする。

Looking cheerful

Today is one of the important days for American people, and it looks true for the college students. It is Halloween. On campus there were hundreds of students dressing up funny costumes. I saw medieval swordsman with a long sword, and some costumes. Surprisingly, one of the college staff dressed up and made up like a black cat with painted whiskers on her face. I have to admire her effort but I was about to scream "Monster!!!" when I saw her.

This is one of the events for Halloween. A haunted house has been built in the student union for an entertainment for this day. Students with scary looking costumes probably will show up in there. I think I should encourage her wearing black cat costume to join it. 

I noticed today Halloween is today. My friend let me know the haunted house, but when I told her I was going to study in the library and were you?, she answered "No way, I don't want to study on Halloween day." She probably thinks me crazy. 

出身は？

数学授業のクラスメートと、レクチャーノートの貸し借りを通じて、少し話すようになった。話しといっても、あいさつや、試験どうだった？程度。初対面の時から、

「韓国人」

だとずっと思っていた。いや韓国人でしかあり得ない。（ちなみになぜか日本人かそうじゃないか分かる。）日本人に親切な韓国人もいるんだなぁ、と感動さえしていた。（当然俺のことを日本人だと分かってるはず。）今日そのクラスメートの出身が判明。

「台湾人」

だった。同時に彼女が　思ってた　俺の国籍も判明。

「韓国人」　←俺

ずっとお互いのことを韓国人と思って話していたらしい。学校に韓国人は多いと思っていたが、実は勘違いだったりして。ちなみに俺は、韓国人以外には、ほぼ100％の確率で韓国人に間違えられる。。。

Presidential election

The presidential election is going to take place soon. This is probably the most important event of this year in the states. The two candidates show up on every type of media every day, and the campaign is heating up. The campaign itself has been going on since the beginning of this year. As I feel it is not finished yet, I am already losing my interest in the election itself, and getting into topics that make fun of Mccain and Palin. Due to the election, an midterm exam supposed to take place on the same day of the election has been put off. This is a good side effect of election. I get to appreciate it to have more time to prepare for the exam.

って言っても、ここ日本じゃないし、アメリカだし。

驚きや感動をシンクロ出来ないのは若干悲しい。

ここは北海道並みの気候だな。

回復

2日も休みを取ったおかげで、今日はすっかり良くなりました。たまった宿題を一気に片付けよう。

体調不良

最近あった試験や宿題で無理したせいか、昨日今日とずっと寝込んでます。症状はめまいと頭痛で、昨日は歩くのも何かに捕まらないといけないほど。今日の午後はだいぶ改善して、首を振ると気持ち悪い程度。来週月曜日にはまた試験なので、大事を取って授業は行かずに家で寝ています。授業を丸一日休むのは初めてで、すごく大事なことを聞き逃しているのではないかと、とても不安になります。明日クラスメートのノートをコピーさせてもらえばいいんだけど、やっぱり自分の目と耳で確かめたい。今日提出の宿題は、教授にメールして水曜までに延ばしてもらいましたが、来週の試験勉強を削らなければならず、この代償は高くつきそうです。昨日はりんご2個、オレンジ2個だけで生き延びました。やせたかな。
