Due to Einstein's discovery

A midterm exam of waves was finished today.
The result was...
I lost at least two problems. -_-
But that's not a big problem.
The reason I stay relaxed...
The previous exam of the same lecture was scored full marks!!
My grade would be "A" as long as I keep the same score at the next final exam. ^^v

The problem I have now is the exam I will take next Tuesday.
The class is for Special Relativity!!
This is one of the class I've wanted to take.
But I don't really get comfortable at all to the theory after I was explained by professor about its concepts...
What mechanism behind the theory lies?
What is reference frame?
How does time move slow in a moving rocket?
How does the length of the moving rocket shrink?
Although each phenomenon is acceptable,
I can't construct whole phenomena without any contradiction.
I'm gonna ask the professor millions of questions about the contradiction in my mind.

Discovery of a Indian food restaurant

Today's Saturday.
I usually stay home and go for a grocery shopping to a mall on Saturday.
But next week I'll have three midterm exams,
so I went to the library to study for the exams.
Since I always have brunch at a cafe on campus,
I headed for the cafe before going to the library.
The cafe that was supposed to be open was closed.
Shit!
I didn't know why.
I confirmed its business hours, and it was saying it was open!
Holly crap!
So I had to walk to some restaurants on campus.
I knew there was only a restaurant that serves meals on Saturday.
It was that Chinese restaurant.
I was reluctant to eat chinese food as brunch because it has oily and too much.
Scientifically, hungriness definitely makes people being lack of concentration,
so I should eat something...
It was just an excuse. To tell a truth, my stomach was just rumbling...
The decision was right.
I found a new indian food restaurant there!
It interested me, so I sneaked to peek a peek inside of it.
It wasn't actually necessary to do it though.
There were several curries and rice, and they seemed delicious!!
I couldn't stop leaving without eating the curries!!
I chose chicken curry and fried rice with nan.
The curry was good, and the nan fresh from oven was great!
I could be satisfied with only nan as lunch.

From the library (図書館から)

There is still snow on the ground that piled up three days ago.
At the middle of the picture, there is a city where I live.
Plain ground is spreading as far as you can see and you can't see any mountains and hills.

You see many PCs in the photo.
This is in the university library.
And this space is called "CYBERY".
That's because It's a coined word that two words "CYBER" and "LIBRARY" are added together.
Since I take my own computer to school, I don't usually use these computers.
But these have lots of useful softwares such as office 2003, office 2007, photoshop, matlab mathematica, maple, autocad etc.
So I sometimes need some of them to do my homework.
Some people use the PCs to just watch youtube!
It's ok but I want to kick them off the space!!
Such people occupy the space whenever I need to use the computer immediately...

Snowed again (また雪だよぉ)

It was too early to declare that spring had come.
Two days ago it snowed about 30 cm high.
In front of my apartment it is a pile of snow.

But snowplow cars ran all the roads on campus all day and got the snow off from the road.
So residents on campus didn't really need to shovel snow to get out of the houses.
I appreciate the work!

I hadn't taken pictures for a while but I took some at school today.
This is a class room for Math.
The instructor is that Chinese who speaks Chinese English.
At the first class there were about fifty people but now there are only twenty people attending the math class...
Most of people might have dropped the class or they would just attend exams.
The professor doesn't mark attendance.

This is a bulletin board.
There are so many messages posted on it.
Selling cars, renting rooms, information about internship etc.
I found today a message about a kendo club.

These are bending machines at school.
You can buy whatever you want when you are hungry.
You see purple, yellow and red colored drinks in the picture.
I've never felt I want to buy the poisonous-looking drinks!

A symposium (シンポジウム)

A symposium of spintronics took place in my school.

Spintronics is abut physics related to spin.
Technology that uses electrons is called electronics while technology that uses spin is called spintronics.
What's spin?
Spin is a physical property elementary particles have and is necessary to understand superconductivity.

There will be broad possible applications using spin.
As an important application using spin, there is a computer memory using spin called spin-RAM.
Spin has two states, which are “spin up” and “spin down”.
The two states can apply to the states “o” and “1” , which is suitable for digital computers.
What is most significant is that the memory doesn't need to be refreshed to retain information in it.
This property help to reduce its energy consumption.

I attended the symposium of spintronics.
The reason was to meet Nobel laureates!
Two Nobel laureates were attending the symposium.
To look at them I went to the site, but unfortunately they didn't make their presentations.
So I didn't recognize who were Nobel Laureates...

Since a presentation done there was designed for non-physicists, the symposium itself was fun.
A presenter showed us a metal levitating above a superconductor as often showed on TV.

Scientific symposium in Japan is apt to be very formal
But this symposium has sociable atmosphere and the presenter often made the audience laugh with his jokes.
I wish I could understand what he said.
